    sorry for the flurry of posting this morning. saw this graph of mccain & obama’s tax plans. republicans have traditionally offered tax cuts for the wealthier, so mccain’s side is no surprise. this would probably come along with significant spending cuts to accommodate for the reduced tax income the government receives.

i do like obama’s larger tax cuts for the middle and lower class, but its almost jarring to see that they are making up for it by taxing the highest income bracket an extra 11%. i read somewhere that the economy traditionally does better under democratic presidents, which is surprising given how little power the president actually has in shaping a budget, but you can see the connection with how the tax plans are traditionally structured.
